The canton of Aue was an administrative unit in the Eschwege district of the Werra department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was Aue near Wanfried in today's Hessian Werra-Meißner district . The canton comprised 13 villages and hamlets, of which eleven Hessian towns were the two towns of Groß-Burschla and Schnellmannshausen south of the Werra from the dissolved Ganerbschaft Treffurt .
