Rambach is one of the two districts of the community Weißenborn in the Werra-Meißner district in Hesse .
Rambach is located in the north Hessian mountainous region southeast of Weißenborn near the border with Thuringia .
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1360.
The historical local structure of Rambach has a slightly disturbed building fabric that goes back to the time before the Thirty Years War . In the center of the village there is the village church built in an exposed place, the Anger and remarkable courtyards. The influence of Thuringian half-timbered architecture , which can be found on numerous houses, is particularly striking . As a whole, the town center is a listed building for historical reasons.
In the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , Rambach was incorporated into the neighboring community of Weißenborn on October 1, 1971. For the district of Rambach, a local district with a local advisory council and a local mayor was established by the main statute . The boundaries of the local district follow the previous district boundaries.
In 1995 Rambach was awarded the national winner in the competition Our village should be more beautiful .
The parish Weissenborn-Rambach belongs to the Sprengel Kassel the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck .
church
The medieval Protestant parish church of Rambach was expanded in the 17th century and raised in 1711 by a half-timbered structure . In 1799 the village church was fundamentally redesigned and given a roof turret . The interior of the church surprises with richly decorated galleries and an organ from the end of the 18th century. A jewel also applies Baroque - pulpit which was built around 1700's. Because of its artistic, structural and historical importance, the church is a protected cultural monument .
