Canton of Ronsdorf
The Canton Ronsdorf (historical spelling Canton Ronsdorf ) was a canton in the Rhineland and was from 1808 to 1813. He was a subordinate administrative unit in under French management preferences and Joachim Murat , a brother of Napoleon ruled the Grand Duchy of Berg , the later in the General Berg passed .

Ronsdorf was also the seat of a mairie in the Elberfeld arrondissement , which in turn belonged to the Rhine department since the administrative reform of November 14, 1808 . The canton had 12,737 inhabitants and consisted of the city of Ronsdorf and the parishes of Cronenberg and Remscheid . Ronsdorf had been the seat of the Ronsdorf Peace Court since 1811 .
According to Appendix 1 to the Berg constitution of 1812, the canton of Ronsdorf would have appointed a deputy to the Collegium (parliament). According to Appendix 2, the canton's assembly of notables consisted of 50 people.
After the canton was dissolved, Remscheid and Ronsdorf came to the newly formed Lennep district in 1816 , Cronenberg first to the Solingen district, then to the Mettmann district and from November 1, 1820 to the Elberfeld district .
