The canton of San Antonio de Lípez is a municipality in the Department of Potosí in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Cantón San Antonio de Lípez is one of three cantons in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) San Pablo de Lípez in the province of Sur Lípez . It borders the province of Nor Lípez in the north and west , the province Enrique Baldivieso in the northwest , the canton Quetena Grande in the southwest , the municipality San Antonio de Esmoruco in the southeast , and the canton San Pablo de Lípez in the east .

The canton extends between about 21 ° 29 'and 22 ° 11' south latitude and 66 ° 38 'and 67 ° 09' west longitude, it measures from north to south up to 75 kilometers, from west to east up to 55 kilometers. There are only three municipalities in the canton, the central place is San Antonio de Lípez in the central part of the canton with 252 inhabitants, the other two villages are Relave with 143 inhabitants and Collpani with 110 inhabitants ( 2001 census ). The mean altitude of the canton is 4400  m .

The canton of San Antonio de Lípez is located in the Cordillera de Lípez , which borders the Bolivian Altiplano to the south.
