The canton of Viscachani is an administrative district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The canton of Viscachani is one of twelve cantons of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Patacamaya in the province of Aroma and is located in the northern part of the district. It borders the Municipio Ayo Ayo in the north and west , the Canton San Martín de Iquiaca in the southwest , the Canton Villa Concepción de Belén in the south, the Canton Chiarumani in the southeast , and the Province Loayza in the east .
The canton extends between 17 ° 06 'and 17 ° 12' south latitude and 67 ° 51 'and 67 ° 58' west latitude, it measures up to nine kilometers from north to south and up to twelve kilometers from west to east. The canton has seven localities ( localidad ), the central place is Viscachani with 185 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the western part of the canton.

The canton of Viscachani is located on the Bolivian plateau between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east. The climate of the region is a typical time of day climate , in which the fluctuations in mean daytime temperatures are more pronounced than the temperature fluctuations between the seasons.
