Karin Andersen (born December 16, 1952 in Eidskog , Hedmark ) is a Norwegian politician of the Sosialistisk Venstreparti (SV). Since 1997 she has been a member of the Storting for Hedmark.

life and career

She worked in a kindergarten from 1977 to 1997 and studied regional planning as an adult at Lillehammer University from 1996 to 1997.

The Andersen was from 1987 to 1995 Member Fylkesting of Hedmark and the county of Hedmark 1991-1995 Deputy Mayor. She was also a member of the Kongsvinger Municipal Council from 1983 to 1997 and a member of its board of directors from 1987 to 1991. From 1989 to 1993 she was vararean representative in Storting . She was elected MP from Hedmark in the 1997 , 2001 , 2005 , 2009 , 2013 and 2017 general elections. In the 2017 general election, she was the top candidate for Sosialistisk Venstreparti in Hedmark. Andersen was chairman of the labor and social committee from 2005 to 2009 and heads the municipal and administrative committee for the 2017–2021 term. She was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from 2009 to 2013 .

In addition, Andersen campaigns against poverty and for the social inclusion of minority groups.

Andersen lives in Hamar .
