Karin Jaani

Karin Jaani (born August 27, 1952 in Ahja ; † October 7, 2009 ) was an Estonian diplomat .

Jaani studied at the University of Tartu and graduated in 1980. Since 1995 she has worked for the diplomatic service, including the Estonian ambassador to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg .

From 2001 to 2005 she was ambassador to Russia . In 2006 Jaani became the first Estonian ambassador to Montenegro and resided in Tallinn . Since October 14, 2008 she was also accredited as ambassador to Belgium and now resides in Brussels . Since March 18, 2009, she was also accredited in Luxembourg . In April 2009 she became the first Estonian ambassador to Kosovo .
