Karl-Heinz Schmitz (born June 9, 1932 in Berlin ; † April 21, 2016 there ) was a German CDU politician .

Karl-Heinz Schmitz was a lawyer and notary by profession. He joined the CDU in 1951. From 1963 to 1982 he was executive chairman and later second state chairman of the CDU Berlin.

Karl-Heinz Schmitz was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 1958 to 1963 and again from 1967 to 1985 . On August 20, 1970, he succeeded the late MP Ernst Lemmer as a representative of Berlin in the German Bundestag . Schmitz left the Bundestag again on August 25, 1971 and was replaced by Lieselotte Berger .

Among other things, Schmitz was also the founder of the police working group in the Berlin CDU.
