Karl-Ulrich Burgdorf (born October 7, 1952 in Hagen ) is a German writer and translator who also uses the pseudonyms Henry Wolf , Robert Craven (as co-author of Wolfgang Hohlbein ), CT Bauer , Arl Duncan , Harald Münzer and Martin Hollburg (together with Martin Baresch and Wolfgang Hohlbein).

Life

From 1971 to 1973 he completed editorial traineeships for two daily newspapers and from 1973 studied journalism, politics and sociology at the University of Münster . He has been a freelance writer and translator since 1982. He mainly publishes fantastic novels and short stories as well as comics. Under the pseudonym Henry Wolf , mainly used by Wolfgang Hohlbein , he wrote a number of novel booklets for the Ghost Crime series (in the sub-series " Raven "), which later saw several new editions under his own name. He also wrote - sometimes also under a pseudonym - as a guest author for series such as Vampira , Damona King , Die UFO-Akten , Die Terranauten , Erde 2000 , Fantasy - Götter, Krieger und Demonen , and translated texts by Philip K. Dick , Orson Scott Card and John Schneider (the play My Werewolf for the Theater im Pumpenhaus , Münster). In 1980 he advised the then unknown author Wolfgang Hohlbein to apply to Bastei-Verlag (for the Professor Zamorra series ) as a novelist, which led to Wolfgang Hohlbein's first professional publication. In 1978 and 1979 he was editor of the magazine Science Fiction Baustelle and from 1986 to 1991 co-editor of the information service science fiction media . In 2001 Burgdorf was assistant director for the Loco Mosquito production Fight Club - The End of the Beginning and in 2002 co-organizer of the Patrick Wildermann / Loco Mosquito retrospective RadikalRomanzen in the Theater im Pumpenhaus, Münster.

Today he lives in Münster and, after retiring from literary life for more than 15 years, has been active as a writer again since 2013.
