Karl Boheim
Karl Böheim (* 1830 in Wiener Neustadt , † 1870 in Stuttgart ) was an Austrian history and genre painter .
Life
As a child, little Karl lost his entire family in the fire in Wiener Neustadt in 1834 and was then brought up by a noble Viennese family. From 1852 Böheim studied at the Vienna Art Academy with Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller and Christian Ruben . He came to Venice around 1854 and became a student of Anton Romako . In 1856 he settled in Rome and joined the circle of artists that included the painters Ludwig Passini and Rudolf Henneberg and the sculptor Joseph von Kopf .
