Philipp Wilhelm Oeding
Philipp Wilhelm Oeding (born January 15, 1697 in Benzingerode , † 1781 in Braunschweig ) was a German painter and miniaturist .
Life
Philipp Wilhelm Oeding went to the Academy in Nuremberg in 1721 ; here Johann Daniel Preissler was his teacher. In 1725 he acquired Nuremberg citizenship. In 1729 he married Barbara Helena Preissler , the daughter of his teacher. In 1741 Oeding went to Altona as a Danish court painter and drawing teacher . In 1746 he became professor of drawing at the Collegium Carolinum in Braunschweig .
