Karl Camillo Schneider
Karl Camillo Schneider (born August 28, 1867 in Pomßen ; † March 1943 in Oleśnica , Poland ) was a German-Austrian zoologist , philosopher , writer , parapsychologist and painter . His official artistic author's abbreviation is "KC Schneider", monogram "KCS"; earlier the abbreviation “KC Schneid.” was also in use. His brother is the botanist of the same name, Camillo Karl Schneider .
Life
Schneider attended the Realgymnasium in Döbeln before studying natural sciences (zoology, palaeontology , mineralogy , chemistry and others) at the University of Leipzig from 1886 to 1889 and at the University of Munich from 1889 to 1890 , where he was awarded a Dr. phil. doctorate (1898 from the University of Vienna nostrified ). His dissertation is entitled " Histology of Hydra fusca ".
Between 1905 and 1932 he worked as an associate professor for zoology at the University of Vienna . After 1910 he devoted himself increasingly to questions of history and the theory of science. His correspondence with Albert Einstein has been preserved .
Schneider's fields of work were hydroids and siphonophores .
Schneider was a Protestant creed and later non-denominational .

Schneider was a mood-impressionist landscape painter, the focus of his painting was the Wachau. His travels also took him to Italy and Switzerland. Most of his relatively small pictures were unsigned. In a later phase he was under the influence of French impressionists .
