Karl Deres

Karl Deres (born February 13, 1930 in Sinzig ; † March 27, 2007 ibid) was a German politician.

Life

Karl Deres attended the Sinzig elementary school from 1936 to 1940 and the Kurfürst-Salentin-Gymnasium in Andernach from 1940 to 1949 and then completed an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank . 1954 to 1958 he moved to the University of Cologne and completed his studies as a business teacher . Since 1954 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Tuisoncia (Königsberg) Bonn. In 1958 he passed the first state examination and, after completing his legal traineeship as a candidate for teaching and commercial teaching at the commercial educational institutions of the city of Bonn, the second state examination. Before he switched to state and federal politics, he worked as director of studies at the vocational school in the Ahrweiler district .

After finishing his parliamentary work and leaving the Bundestag, he withdrew from active politics.

Karl Deres joined the CDU in 1960 and took on responsibilities in the Sinzig district association for 20 years. He was deputy chairman there from 1969 to 1981 and then first district chairman until 1989.

At the local level , he represented his party in the district council . He was a member of this from 1969 to 1994 and was also district deputy and thus honorary deputy of the district administrator from 1974 to 1980 .

From 1975 to 1980 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . He was elected there through his constituency.

From 1980 to 1994 he was a member of the German Bundestag for four terms . He was elected for the CDU through a direct mandate in Rhineland-Palatinate . He succeeded Johann Peter Josten , who was elected in the same constituency . Karl Deres was a member of the budget committee . He was chairman of the subcommittee on auditing until the end of his parliamentary work. He followed the move of the Bundestag from Bonn to the new capital Berlin critically and was a staunch opponent of this measure.

His estate is in the archive for Christian-Democratic Politics of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Sankt Augustin.
