Karl Dietzel (politician, 1928)
Karl Dietzel (born February 28, 1928 in Frankenheim / Rhön ; † December 13, 1985 in Berlin ) was a German education politician ( SED ). He was the deputy minister for popular education in the GDR .
Life
Dietzel, the son of a whip stick maker, attended elementary school in Frankenheim from 1934 to 1942 and learned the trade of a locksmith in Oberschönau from 1942 to 1945 . He then worked in the Meiningen Reichsbahn repair shop .
In 1946 he became a member of the SED and studied at the Pedagogical College in Drei 30acker . From 1946 to 1951 he was a new history teacher and, from 1947, deputy director of the Theo-Neubauer -Oberschule in Meiningen . From 1951 to 1956 he worked as a district school councilor in Meiningen. 1954/1955 he was chairman of the council of the Meiningen district and member of the SED district leadership. Between 1955 and 1958 Dietzel studied at the party college "Karl Marx" . From November 1958 to May 1961 he acted as deputy chairman of the Suhl district council . From 1961 to 1985 he was deputy minister for popular education in the GDR and from 1971 a member of the youth commission at the Politburo of the Central Committee of the SED.
