Karl Friedrich Zähringer
Karl Friedrich Zähringer (born May 24, 1886 in Fützen / Black Forest , † October 26, 1923 in Murg (Upper Rhine) ) was a German wood cutter .
Zähringer studied at the Karlsruhe School of Applied Arts , which he had to drop out for health reasons. He settled in Baden-Baden , spent three years in the sanatorium in Davos , where he remained artistically active. In 1919 he was expelled from Switzerland and settled in Murg ( Baden ).
He mainly dealt with the woodcut. In 1921 he showed his works together with Emil Bizer and Wilhelm Schnarrenberger at an exhibition in the Moos Gallery in Karlsruhe . He died at the age of 37.
In 1937, 38 of his works were confiscated as part of the “ Degenerate Art ” campaign.
Zähringer's works include a. in the local history museum Murg.
