Modou Secka Barrow (born October 13, 1992 in Banjul ) is a Gambian - Swedish football player .
Career
society
Barrow began his career in his native Gambia with Real de Banjul . At the age of eleven, his family emigrated to Sweden, so that he continued his football career there.
In 2014, Barrow was discovered by English scouts and signed by Swansea City for the 2014/15 season . After brief loan positions at Nottingham Forest , Blackburn Rovers and Leeds United , he was signed within the Premier League by Reading FC .
After 77 appearances and 14 goals in the Premier League, Barrow moved to the Süper Lig promoted Denizlispor . Here he was able to secure a regular place, which he lost again due to indiscipline. Barrow canceled his contract during the COVID-19 pandemic .
National team
Barrow was nominated for the Gambian national soccer team for the first time in 2015 and was considered for the qualifying games of the Africa Cup of 2017 .
Private life
Barrow has four brothers with whom he emigrated to Sweden to live with his father after his mother died in Gambia in 2003.
He has Swedish citizenship and is a devout Muslim. He and his wife have a daughter (born 2014) and a son (2018).
