Karl Gottlob Clausnitzer

Karl Gottlob Clausnitzer (born July 1, 1714 in Rosenthal ; † October 22, 1788 in Klöden ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

The son of pastor Johann Samuel Clausnitzer began studying at the University of Leipzig in 1731 and continued this at the University of Wittenberg . In Wittenberg he had acquired the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophical sciences on October 17, 1734 . From 1735 he worked as a private tutor and had come to Hof , where he taught the Zitzendorff youth. In 1738 he became pastor in Schirmeitz and in 1757 took over the provost and superintendent in Klöden as senior pastor .

family

Two sons and two daughters are known from his marriage to Christiane Friderike Dieterici (moved to Wittenberg as a widow to her son-in-law Johann Christoph Erdmann). We know of these:

  • Karl Christian Clausnitzer (born August 15, 1741 in Schirmeitz; † April 24, 1811 in Pretzsch) became a deacon in Pretzsch, later senior pastor there
  • Christiane Eleonore Clausnitzer married to Johann Christoph Erdmann
  • Caroline Friderike Clausnitzer m. June 3, 1766 in Klöden with the pastor in Globig Johann Gottlob Erler (* May 24, 1733 in Chemnitz; † December 25, 1795 in Globig)
  • August Gottfried Clausnitzer (born July 3, 1751 in Schirmeitz; † January 5, 1828 in Dresden)
