Karl Kanka

Karl Kanka (born June 12, 1904 in Munich , † July 20, 1974 in Offenbach am Main ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Kanka, who was a Roman Catholic , studied law in Frankfurt am Main and Giessen . In 1929 he settled as a lawyer in Offenbach am Main, where he later also became a notary.

Kanka was an SA member.

MP

After the Second World War, Kanka belonged to the Constitutional Advisory Assembly of Hesse . In September 1946 he and the constitutional lawyer Erwin Stein presented the "Vollradser Draft", a draft constitution for Hesse, which became the basis for the Hessian state constitution that was later adopted. From 1946 to 1958 Kanka was a member of the state parliament in Hesse , where he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from August 1952. In 1948 he took part in the constitutional convention on Herrenchiemsee as an employee of Hermann Brill for Hesse .

He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1957 to 1965. He represented the Offenbach constituency in parliament.
