Karl Konstantin von Schnitter

Karl Konstantin von Schnitter , also Carl Constantin (* May 25, 1657 , † April 1721 ) was a Brandenburg-Prussian engineer colonel and fortress commander.

Life

Karl Konstantin comes from the Bohemian and Kur-Brandenburg noble family von Schnitter , who lived in Upper Lusatia. The fortress Groß Friedrichsburg on the Gold Coast in West Africa was built according to Schneider's designs. From 1684 to 1686 he was in command of the Groß Friedrichsburg colony . On November 4, 1698, Schnitter's nobility was confirmed. At least in the period from 1708 to 1712 Schnitter was fortress commander of Peitz under Anton von Pannewitz . He was also Quartermaster General and was buried in the Nikolaikirche in Berlin.

family

Schnitter married Emerentia von Pufendorf (* 1668), a daughter of Samuel von Pufendorf , in 1698 . The children Carl Albrecht, Christian Ludwig and Sophia Charlotte von Schnitter emerged from the marriage.
