Karl Krause (born October 20, 1960 ) is a German manager and was CEO of Kiekert AG , headquartered in Heiligenhaus , from May 2007 to June 2018 .

Karl Krause completed a mechanical engineering degree at the Clausthal University of Technology from 1981 to 1986 . Following his studies, he did his doctorate in manufacturing technology / operational stability.

Career

After completing his studies, Krause worked from 1989 to 1993 as an assistant to the management for the automotive supplier Brose Fahrzeugteile in Coburg . From 1993 Krause worked for the automotive supplier Teves Bremssysteme and SWF wiper systems, which at that time both belonged to ITT Automotive Europe GmbH. From 1999 to 2002 he was Director Operations Safety Systems Europe at the US automotive supplier TRW Automotive GmbH in Alfdorf , where he outsourced production to Eastern Europe to save costs. Krause then worked for one and a half years as the managing director of Huber Verpackungen in Öhringen . Krause then worked from 2003 to 2007 as Vice President Manufacturing and Managing Director at Visteon GmbH in Kerpen , where he was responsible for the restructuring and sale of individual business areas. In May 2007, after being taken over by a British investment group, he became CEO of Kiekert AG. He was able to avert an imminent bankruptcy of the company. By 2008, Kiekert had sold the electronics division to a competitor, closed plants in the USA and Great Britain and invested in relocating production capacities to China. Although the step was "extremely controversial", in 2012 Krause campaigned for the sale of all shares to the Chinese Lingyun Group.

Krause has positioned Kiekert AG globally together with a new management team and paved the way for further growth as part of this globalization strategy.

In October 2015, the Kiekert AG Supervisory Board appointed Karl Krause for a further term. Karl Krause left Kiekert AG in June 2018 and then took over the management of the Schlemmer Group as Chairman of the Management Board in October 2018.

Mandates

Krause has been on the advisory board of the VDA since 2007 and on the advisory board of Deutsche Bank AG for the Wuppertal region since 2014 .
