Karl Ludwig (Hohenlohe-Langenburg)
Karl Ludwig, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (born September 10, 1762 in Langenburg , † April 4, 1825 there ) was the 3rd Prince of the House of Hohenlohe-Langenburg .
biography
Karl Ludwig was born as the first child of Prince Christian Albrecht zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Princess Caroline zu Stolberg-Gedern.
He was an avid musician.
From 1815 to 1825 Prince Karl Ludwig belonged to the assemblies of the estates and from 1820 to the First Chamber of the Württemberg estates , but from 1819 he was represented by his son Ernst .
Marriage and offspring
On January 30, 1789, he married Countess Amalie Henriette zu Solms-Baruth (1768–1847), daughter of Count Johann Christian II zu Solms-Baruth, at Klitschdorf Palace .
The marriage had the following thirteen children:

Through the marriages of his children and grandchildren, connections were established with the leading noble houses in Europe.
- Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein is the great-grandson of Infanta Marie Therese of Portugal , whose mother is Adelheid Carl Ludwig's granddaughter.
- Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg is also a descendant of Adelheid through her daughter Maria Anna .
- King Carl XVI. Gustaf von Sweden's mother Sibylla is the great-granddaughter of the daughter of Carl Ludwig's son Ernst .
- Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands Father Bernhard is great-grandson of Carl Ludwig's daughter Emilie.
- Queen Sophia of Spain and Constantine II of Greece are children of Friederike von Hannover , whose grandmother Empress Auguste Viktoria is the granddaughter of Carl Ludwig's son Ernst .
