The Karl Meyer group of companies with the management company Karl Meyer AG (at the same time the highest level of consolidation) is a North German waste disposal company based in Wischhafen . The core business of the group consists of the areas of environmental services, waste disposal and logistics .

history

The company was founded in 1947 by Karl Meyer. At first it was a transport company that brought bricks from the Kehdingen region to Hamburg for reconstruction. At the end of the 1950s, the company got into waste disposal and expanded this branch more and more. In this area, among other things, it was the first company in northern Germany to dispose of waste glass across the board . Karl Meyer AG is now active as a waste disposal company in the Elbe-Weser triangle and Hamburg. To accomplish this, the company has 650 employees.

Today Karl Meyer AG is one of the most important employers in the Kehdingen area . The company is involved in funding projects. However, there were some discussions with the residents due to the nearby garbage dump . The location of the headquarters was also a tricky one. The community and the entire community feared that the AG could relocate its seat. To prevent this, the construction of a new three-story company building with a volume of around 3 million was budgeted.

In 2007 Karl Meyer AG founded CFK Valley Stade Recycling GmbH & Co. KG and in August 2008 put a pilot plant for recycling CFRP into operation on the premises of the chemical company Dow in Stade. Two and a half years later, Europe's first industrial CFRP recycling plant was finally put into operation at the company's headquarters in Wischhafen. In December 2011, CFK Valley Stade Recycling and the sales company for recycled carbon fiber products, carboNXT, founded in 2010, received the German Raw Material Efficiency Award 2011. In February 2012, CFK Recycling was recognized as one of 365 “Selected Locations” in the “Land of Ideas”.
