His two older children managed to flee abroad. An alley and a memorial stone bear the name of Karl Neumann:

  • On February 15, 1949, the former Badhausgasse was turned into Dr. Renamed Neumann-Gasse .
  • In front of the Neumann family's last residence at Dirmhirngasse 25 in Vienna-Liesing , a memorial stone was laid by the Stones of Remembrance Initiative in Liesing on June 13, 2013 ; the three names can also be found in the list of Liesinger victims of National Socialism 1938-1945 .

Identical names

It has the same name as another Viennese victim of the Nazi regime: The saddler and resistance fighter Karl Neumann (1875-1940) was arrested together with his wife Christine Neumann on May 22, 1939 for the "crime of spying", then by the Vienna Gestapo interrogated, remained in custody until April 20, 1940 and was released for incapacity. He passed away shortly afterwards.
