Karl Johann Sigmund Freiherr Schott von Schottenstein (born July 21, 1792 in Hohenaltheim near Nördlingen, † June 15, 1882 in Stuttgart ) was the royal Württemberg government president and member of the state parliament .

family

Karl Schott von Schottenstein was the son of the chief hunter Johann Sigmund Schott von Schottenstein (1747–1799) and the Albertine Wilhelmine Karoline Freiin von Heßberg († 1829). He married Adelheit Freiin Brand von Lindau in 1819 (* June 14, 1796 - March 8, 1830), with her he had three children:

  • Karl Albrecht Dietrich Robert (* November 14, 1820; † July 2, 1862) ⚭ 1856 Marie Henriette Amalie von Minckwitz (* October 16, 1832; † July 19, 1877)
  • Eduard Bernhard Ludwig Johann (February 20, 1823 - April 3, 1897) ⚭ 1851 Franziska de Paula Wilhelmine Guionneau des Marets (December 9, 1826 - March 7, 1900), sister of Karl August von Guionneau
  • Friedrich Ludwig (April 27, 1829 - September 26, 1857) ⚭ 1856 Baroness Anna Varnbuler von und zu Hemmingen (July 16, 1836) (remarried in 1860 to Caesar von Hofacker († May 12, 1896)), daughter of the minister Karl von Varnbuler

In his second marriage, he was married to Luise Jakobine Friederike von Vischer (* October 31, 1803, † November 26, 1849) widowed von Grundherr from 1834 , with whom he had a son, Max .

Life

From 1810 to 1813 he studied law in Tübingen . He was royal Württemberg Chamberlain , then Councilor and later district president with the official title of government official in the government of the Danube Circle in Ulm. Karl Schott von Schottenstein was buried in the Pragfriedhof in Stuttgart.

politics

In 1838 he was elected to the Württemberg state parliament in the Saulgau constituency. He held the mandate for five years; in the 1844 election he was defeated by Alois Wüst .
