Karl Winand Pütz

Karl Winand Pütz (born March 30, 1808 in Hochstraß (Moers) ; † after 1849) was a German pastor , landowner , farmer , brewer and politician .

Life

Born the son of a postmaster , Pütz studied Protestant theology in Bonn and Berlin after attending grammar school in Essen . During his studies he became a member of the old Bonn fraternity in 1829 . After his exams he spent a year in the auxiliary service in Cologne and was then elected pastor by the parish of Sittard in Holland and the parish of Neuss in 1833 . He decided in favor of Neuss, but then resigned his position in 1841 and went back to Hochstraß, where he became a landowner, farmer and brewer. Later he went to Cologne, where he presumably took over a brewery . In 1849 he was a member (constituency 1 / Düsseldorf ) in the Second Prussian Chamber , in which he belonged to the right center and in particular had violent arguments with the leftist Aegidius Rudolph Nicolaus Arntz .
