Karl Zander

Karl Zander (born September 10, 1881 in Berlin ; † April 4, 1950 ) was a German actor and reciter .

Life

Zander received his acting training from Adolph L'Arronge and Emanuel Reicher in Berlin. He trained as a character actor with Max Grube at the court theater in Meiningen. Max Reinhardt brought him from Frankfurt am Main to the Deutsches Theater in Berlin . During the First World War he was a soldier and was interned in America. Zander did not return to Berlin until 1922. He worked as a spokesman for records for Homocord , Parlophone and Artiphon . The content was often German-national and hostile to France , such as "Emigrants" and "Foreign Legionnaires".

In 1935 he directed the UFA short film "Postlagernd XYZ" with Harald Paulsen and Mady Rahl .

Karl Zander also appeared under pseudonyms . Some of them are José Tavéra, Joachim Baumgart, Julius Eckert and Dr. Kurt Bessel.
