Karl von Jagow

Karl Georg Eduard von Jagow (born August 4, 1818 in Rühstädt ; † November 28, 1888 there ) was a Prussian manor owner and politician.

Karl von Jagow was born as the son of Fideikommißherr Friedrich Wilhelm Thomas Achaz von Jagow (* October 22, 1779 - February 6, 1854) and Countess Adelaide Charlotte Frederike Christiane von Hacke (* April 3, 1782 - July 30, 1848) .

Life

He was the owner of the Rühstädt manor in the Prignitz , heir hunter master of the Mark Brandenburg and belonged as a conservative to the Prussian House of Representatives from 1870 to 1873 .

On March 21, 1879, Jagow won a replacement election in the Reichstag constituency Potsdam  1 ( Westprignitz ) as a candidate of the German Conservative Party and was a member of the Reichstag until the end of the legislative period in 1881. His older son Günther von Jagow represented the same constituency in the Reichstag from 1890 to 1893. His younger son Gottlieb von Jagow was State Secretary in the Foreign Office from 1913 to 1916 .

Jagow was married twice. On April 10, 1844 in Oldenburg, he married Freiin Luise Antonie Charlotte von Gayl (* December 7, 1822 - June 30, 1863), the daughter of Lieutenant General and Chamberlain of Oldenburg Ludwig von Gayl (1785-1853) and Anna Hollmann ( 1796-1857). The couple had several children:

After the death of his first wife, he married the baroness Henriette Karoline Sophie von Dorbenck on July 10, 1866 (June 1, 1827, † March 13, 1901).
