Hermann von Jagow

Hermann Wilhelm Adolf Adalbert von Jagow-Scharpenhufe (born June 5, 1848 in Quitzöbel , † June 22, 1923 in Seehausen ) was a landowner, district administrator and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

He came from the old Brandenburg noble family von Jagow , which was first mentioned in a document in 1268 and has been a castle in Altmark since the 14th century. Jagow was the son of the landowner and Kurmärkischen hereditary hunter Karl von Jagow (1818-1888), Fideikommissherr on Gut Rühstädt (district Prignitz) and co-owner of Scharpenhufe (today a district of Aland , district of Stendal ) and Natewisch, and his first wife Luise Freiin von Gayl (1822–1863) and attended schools in Roßleben and Brandenburg , as well as the universities of Bonn and Kiel . In 1869 he joined the army and on August 17, 1886 he was retired as Rittmeister. He managed his estate on Scharpenhufe and was district administrator in the district of Osterburg from 1893 to 1912 , as were other family members with Wilhelm , Friedrich and Ernst von Jagow .

From 1890 to 1894 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Magdeburg 2 Stendal , Osterburg and the German Conservative Party . Between 1908 and 1913 he was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives .

He had been a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn since 1870 .
