Karl von Lama

Karl Joseph Lothar Theobald Ritter von Lama von und zu Büchsenhausen (born July 1, 1841 in Augsburg , † July 6, 1920 in Füssen ) was a bookseller and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Lama attended the elementary and commercial training school in Augsburg and passed the state examination as a commissioner after several years of apprenticeship , worked as such from 1858 to 1865 in Austria, southern and northern Germany. From 1865 to 1886 he was the owner of a book and antiquarian bookshop in Dillingen , Traunstein , Salzburg and Munich . From 1886 to 1890 he was director and board member of the publishing house vorm. GJ Manz in Regensburg, but resigned from this position out of health considerations (nervous disorders). From 1891 he was again the owner of an antiquarian book trade in Regensburg. He was also a board member of the St. Wolfgang building association for cheap workers' housing in Regensburg and was also active as a writer.

From 1893 to 1903 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Upper Palatinate 1 ( Regensburg , Burglengenfeld , Stadtamhof ) and the German Center Party . From 1899 to 1904 he was also a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies (33rd state parliament).

One of his four sons was Friedrich Ritter von Lama .
