Karl Friedrich Maria Stephan Adolf von Savigny (born May 25, 1855 in Karlsruhe ; † November 6, 1928 on Gut Trages near Gelnhausen ) was a majorate in Hesse, a Prussian civil servant ( District Administrator von Büren ) and a German politician of the Center Party .

Life

He was the son of the leading center politician Karl Friedrich von Savigny and his wife Freda Sophie Karoline Marie (born von Arnim-Boitzenburg) . Savigny attended the Friedrich-Werder-Gymnasium in Berlin and studied law in Berlin and Bonn as well as economics in Leuven . In Bonn he became an active member of the Catholic student association K.St.V. Arminia in KV . In 1876 Savigny received his doctorate as Dr. jur. publ and then completed the usual preparatory service for the Prussian civil service. In 1881 Savigny did his military service as a one-year volunteer with the 1st Guard Dragoons Regiment in Berlin and left the army as a prime lieutenant.

Since the continuation of the preparatory service in the vicinity of his goods was not possible, he initially renounced his work in the civil service and initially took over the administration of the goods that had come to him at Hanau . He later returned to the public service. As a government assessor , he worked for various district governments. From 1894 he was initially charged with the administration of the district office in Büren . A year later he was definitely appointed district administrator there. In 1912 he resigned from the civil service for health reasons.

Savigny belonged to the Center Party . Between 1900 and 1918 he was a member of the Reichstag , into which he was elected as a member of the constituency Minden 4 (Paderborn - Büren) in a replacement election on December 5, 1900. He was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1899 to 1918 . He was also a member of the district assembly in Hanau and the Westphalian provincial assembly . From 1921 to 1925 he represented the Center Party in the Kassel municipal parliament and the provincial parliament of the Hesse-Nassau province .

Savigny married Maria Elisabeth Charlotte (née von Amelunxen ) in 1912 . She was the widow of his brother Leo von Savigny .

He was a member of the Westphalian antiquity association and director of the Büren agricultural district association.

During his tenure as district administrator, he made outstanding contributions to the Büren district by co-initiating the Almetalbahn and the Almetal central waterworks .
