Karlhans Frank

Karlhans Frank (born May 25, 1937 in Düsseldorf , † November 25, 2007 in Gelnhaar , Hesse ) was a German writer , screenwriter and director .

Life

Karlhans Frank studied ethnology , art history and art . He had been a freelance writer since 1961, and later also worked as a director and translator. He has authored more than 100 poetry and prose books as well as radio plays and scripts for films and school reading books.

At the Writers ' Congress in Mainz (March 11-13, 1983), Frank was elected as a member of the federal board of the Association of German Writers (VS) , now in ver.di , and held this office until April 1984. Frank was also a member of the executive board of the PEN Center Germany and President and Honorary President of the European authors' association Die Kogge .

Frank taught creative (screenplay) writing and directing at the Electronic Media Faculty of the Stuttgart Media University in Stuttgart.

He lived and worked in Gelnhaar near Frankfurt am Main and died of cancer.
