Karlheinz Freynik

Karlheinz Freynik (also Kalle Freynik , born July 25, 1947 in Hamburg ) is a German author , musician , film producer and director .

Career

Freynik wrote film reviews as a journalist while still at school. This was followed by early years as a musician (guitar, saxophone, harmonica) with tours through West and East Germany, Scandinavia, France and Great Britain. He was a member of the City Preachers group . As Kalle he also had solo appearances in the Hamburg Star Club and in 1966 released the album Ich bin ein Deutscher , which mainly featured folk and protest songs . This was followed by the single Please don't go away… In 1968, together with Ulf von Mechow and Walter Brandin, he translated the text of the musical Hair into German. In 1969 he founded Music Factory , one of the first German independent labels , where he released Can's first record ( Monster Movie ).

Since 1971 Freynik has worked as a director, producer and screenwriter for film and television. He is co-inventor of the TV series Klimbim and Sketchup and worked for and with comedian / pianist Victor Borge for twenty-five years . During this time he founded the band Superheroes together with Ulf Miehe , Pit Janzen (designer, film outfitter), Peter Przygodda (film editor) and Marius Müller-Westernhagen , which appeared in the satirical program Express and published the song Schlagerparade .

He wrote over three hundred scripts for film and television.
