Karlheinz Mose

Karlheinz Mose (born November 6, 1927 in Frankenstein in Silesia ; † June 3, 2016 in Hamburg ) was a German journalist and author . After more than four decades as an editor and television critic for the Hörzu program guide , Mose was a legendary and formative personality in the German press landscape.

Life

Moses grew up in Frankenstein, Lower Silesia , and trained as a journalist. After switching from the daily press to the program magazine Hörzu in 1953 , he initially worked there in the photo editor . Moses' journalistic talent was only recognized and promoted under the new editor-in-chief Hans Bluhm . From 1994 Mose worked as a senior editor and television critic for the Hörzu. He became known for his polished texts and his amiable way of putting criticism into words. In more than forty years of work he shaped the journalistic life in Hamburg and was a well-known and popular conversation partner throughout Germany.

For many years Mose was also a member of the jury for the Golden Camera film and television award , the history of which he witnessed in the early years of television as a witness .

Even after his retirement, Moses was still active as a writer. He regularly wrote articles for the local history magazine AGG-Mitteilungen. Just a few months before his death, he wrote an article for the International Journalists' Association Hamburg Die Auswärtige Presse eV on the 100th birthday of his colleague and long-time companion Ruth Geede . He was a member of the German Association of Journalists for more than 65 years and was honored for this at the association's general meeting in 2013.

Karlheinz Mose died in Hamburg at the beginning of June 2016 at the age of 88 after a serious illness. The public memorial service for him took place on June 17, 2016 in Hamburg's Mariendom .
