particularities |
Inflow: Waldgraben, Seegraben, outflow: Lietzengraben |
The Buch carp pond consists of three parts connected by inflows and outflows, which is located in the western part of the Buch forest . The lower pond (I) has a small island which, because of its location, serves as a breeding ground for many birds. The main inflow is via a pipe connection from Lake Bogensee . The discharge takes place via a sluice into the Lietzengraben , which leads to the Panke .
Depending on the inflow and precipitation, the extent of the ponds varies greatly. The entire area around the pond is flat, swampy and promotes the formation of bog soil.
The upper carp pond and the adjacent Bogensee are located in the nature reserve " Bogenseekette and Lietzengrabenniederung " (NSG 32); however, the lower carp belong to the conservation area "book" (LSG 47).
fauna
In addition to the easy-to-spot bird species, coot , mallard and swan , there are at least ten other species. Eleven species of fish are known to be found in these ponds. The main ones are tench , carp , perch , pike and eel .
flora
The second half of the lower pond is little surrounded by trees, but difficult to access due to heavy vegetation with reeds and sedges . The upper part of the lower pond and the upper pond, on the other hand, are more lined with trees.
Management
The ponds are managed by the Angelsport Verein (ASV) Berlin-Buch.
