The Karwendeltal is next to the Hinterautal one of the longest valleys of the Karwendel and runs in a slight curve from west to east between the northern Karwendel chain in the north and the Hinterautal-Vomper chain in the south.
The valley is traversed by the Karwendelbach, which flows into the Isar at the western end of the valley . At the eastern end of the valley with the Angeralm ( 1310 m above sea level ) the Hochalmsattel ( 1803 m above sea level ) connects with the transition to the Kleiner Ahornboden and the Johannestal .

At the eastern end of the valley above the end of the valley is the managed Karwendelhaus , one of the central bases in the Karwendel.
Tour possibilities
The route is closed to public traffic. Important mountain bike tours in the Karwendel lead through the valley to the Karwendelhaus.
