Kaspar Heinrich von Stechow

Kaspar Heinrich von Stechow (born November 20, 1687 at Gut Stechow ; † December 26, 1746 at Gut Altenschlage ) was a Prussian colonel and chief of garrison regiment No. 6 .

Life

origin

His parents were the heir to Kotzen Kuno Ludwig von Stechow and his wife Anna Elisabeth, née von Stechow from the Kotzen family.

Military career

Stechow was page with King Friedrich Wilhelm I and in 1708 he became a chamberlain. He switched to the military and became a captain in the “Varenne” infantry regiment . On June 12, 1719 he was major , on March 22, 1725 lieutenant colonel and in 1737 colonel and commander of the "Alt-Borcke" regiment. In the First Silesian War he fought in 1740 in the siege of Glogau in Silesia. On April 10, 1741, he was wounded in the foot in the battle of Mollwitz , but he was already back at the siege of Brieg . After the conquest of Brieg he received the order to recruit a new regiment. He was put into service as No. 6 Garrison Regiment.

He fell ill with cataracts and said goodbye in 1743. He retired to his Altenschlage estate in Western Pomerania, where he died on December 26, 1746. As early as 1725 he sold the Stechow family estate to Captain Ludwig von Bredow.

Stechow married Freiin Henriette Wilhelmine von Pelden in 1717 called Cloudt (1697–1764). The couple had three sons and four daughters, including:
