Kaspar von Nostitz (* 1500 in Lampersdorf , † March 22, 1588 in Königsberg ) was Chamber Councilor Albrecht of Prussia .

Life

Origin and family

Kaspar von Nostiz came from the Lusatian nobility of the von Nostitz family with possessions in both Upper Lusatia and Silesia .

Career

Nostitz attended school in Goldberg and then studied in Krakow , Vienna and Wittenberg preferably law . After completing his training, he entered the service of the new Duke of Prussia. From 1534 until 1577 he was bailiff at Königsberg Castle . As upper Burggraf he belonged in 1566 to the highest authority in the duchy, the upper councils , but was from the 1567 Duchess deputy of their absent Lord Chamberlain and steward appointed. Under Duke Albrecht Friedrich , after differences, he resigned his main office in 1578.

Nostitz was an advocate and promoter of the Reformation . He was married and had a property in the Duchy of about 300 hooves .
