Kassel-Naumburg Railway
The Kassel-Naumburger Eisenbahn (KNE) is a former railway company in Hesse . She was the owner and operator of the Kassel – Naumburg railway line .
history
The Kassel-Naumburger Eisenbahn AG was founded on June 27, 1901 by the main shareholder, the AG for Railway Construction and Operation (BBB), together with municipalities and private individuals. The original company was until August 11, 1983 Kleinbahn AG Kassel-Naumburg (KN), where Cassel was written with a C until 1937. The company was run by BBB, which from 1929 traded as Deutsche Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft AG. At that time, the majority of the shares had passed to the AG for Transport (AGV). This sold the shares in 1953 to the State of Hesse, which transferred them to the Hessische Landesbahn GmbH in 1966 .
At the end of 2005, the KNE was taken over by Frankfurt-Königsteiner Eisenbahn AG, which now operates as HLB Basis AG and represents the railway infrastructure company of the Landesbahn.
vehicles
The four-axle diesel railcar VT 101 of the KN, built in 1956 by Henschel and Credé , was one of the most powerful private railcars with two 300 hp engines.
