Katharina Riese (born May 4, 1946 as Katharina Brenner in Linz / Danube ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Katharina Riese grew up in Linz, where she graduated from high school in 1964 . Then she moved to Vienna . She studied folklore and art history at the universities in Vienna and Basel . In 1981 she received her doctorate from the University of Vienna with a thesis on folklore and became a doctor of philosophy . She carried out various professional activities; She was also active as a writer and journalist and was active in the Viennese women's movement , particularly as part of a women's theater project. In the 1990s, the author's main interests were radio art and Austrian dialect literature . Today Riese lives as a freelance writer in Vienna.

The author is the author of short stories , reviews , plays and radio plays .

Katharina Riese is a member of the Graz Authors' Assembly , the IG Authors Authors and the " Austrian Dialect Authors and Archives " association. She received u. a.
