Katharina "Kathi" Schiechtl (born February 27, 1993 in Zams ) is an Austrian national soccer player .

Career

societies

Schiechtl started her career in 2001 at SV Karres before moving to FC Wacker Innsbruck in 2007 . At Wacker Innsbruck she played her senior debut on September 2, 2007 against SCU Ardagger in the ÖFB Women's Bundesliga . Schiechtl played in 41 league games for FC Wacker in six years up to the summer of 2013, before joining the German second division club SV Werder Bremen .

National team

On June 14, 2014 Schiechtl played her first international match for the Austrian national team against the Finnish national team . Before that, she played in 9 games for the U-19s and 16 international matches for the U-16s in Austria.

Four years later, she and the team finished Group 8 of the 2nd qualifying round for the 2017 European Championship as runner-up behind Norway and qualified for a significant tournament for the first time after winning the Cyprus Cup as the first participant a year earlier . The team reached the semi-finals at the Women's Euro 2017 .
