Building

The church with a high dome over the altar area was designed in the style of eclecticism . A portico with a triangular gable rises in front of the double tower facade . The barrel vault was painted by Julio Ángel Galli with biblical scenes, it is supported by two rows of eight columns. Small altars and stations of the cross are arranged on the sides.

The main altar was made in Italy in 1898 from Carrara marble in the neo-renaissance style. On the left side of the transept is the old baptistery , which became the new chapel of the Holy Sacrament. To the right of the transept is a neo-Gothic altar donated by the Governor of the Province of Santa Fe, José María Cullen. He was buried with his wife under the altar. The crypt with space for 150 visitors is accessible through a side staircase. As the Lady Chapel, it houses the image of the Virgen del Rosario, which was brought to Rosario from Cádiz , Spain in 1773 .

The Archbishops Silvino Martínez, Guillermo Bolatti and Jorge Manuel López were buried in the cathedral.
