Location description

The church stands above the village in the former walled cemetery.

history

The parish originally founded in the Middle Ages was at times Protestant . Using the medieval masonry, the choir was built in 1733 and the nave of the church in 1779.

Church building

The apse adjoins the single-nave hall church with retracted choir at the 3/8 end. The baroque west tower, which was raised in 1853 and renovated in 1870, is crowned by a pyramid roof. The two late Romanesque windows with decorative painting in the south front were restored from 1977 to 1978. The west portal with a late Gothic arc lintel and an old door leads into the tower hall.

The three- bay, square-vaulted nave is structured by belt arches resting on pilasters . The stucco decor inside is simple. The vaulted three-axis gallery on the west side is provided with a curved parapet. A narrow triumphal arch separates the nave from the barrel-vaulted choir. There are stitch caps in the apse .

Furnishing

The high altar is baroque . A sculptural crucifixion group from around 1733 stands in front of a rounded, dark niche.

The pulpit is decorated with oil paintings of the four evangelists. A figure of St. Michael from around 1750 is on the cover plate. It was restored in 1963.

In the sacristy there is a sacrament niche with a reused Gothic iron door. The parament cabinet dates from 1761 or 1762.

Bell jar

The bell was cast in 1535.
