Katrin Hering

Katrin Hering (born December 31, 1967 in Stuttgart ) is a former German basketball player .

career

As a youth, the player from the Stuttgart club SV Möhringen made the leap into the German national junior team. Hering took part in the European U16 championships in 1984 and in the U18 competition class in 1986.

At club level, she played for TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the first women's basketball league until 1994 and then in the same league for TV Bensberg in 1994/95 .

As a coach, she led the Bayer Leverkusen boys' team in 2006 to win the German championship title in the U20 age group. At that time, her protégés included Tim Ohlbrecht , Richard Poiger and Matthias Goddek, among others . She led Leverkusen's male U16s to the German runner-up in 2008, and in 2009 the Bayer offspring won the bronze medal in the U18 DBB Cup under Hering's direction as a trainer. From the 2009/10 season she looked after the U19 boys in the youth basketball league in Leverkusen , her team also included the later Bundesliga player Mathis Mönninghoff , later another player with Christian Sengfelder who later ended up in the top German division. She held the NBBL office until 2014. From 2010 she was also assistant coach of the Leverkusen men's team in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .
