Kaya is one of the largest cities in the West African Republic of Burkina Faso .
Kaya is the capital of the Center-Nord region and the Sanmatenga province and is located around 100 km northeast of Ouagadougou , the capital of Burkina Faso . There is also a department of the same name, which covers the same area as the commune urbaine Kaya. The city is divided into seven sectors.

Kaya is known for its shoemakers and fine goatskin work, which is why there is also a large market for fur and leather processing.
