Kayla De Souza (born March 7, 1990 in Scarborough , Ontario ) is a Canadian soccer player of Guyanese origin.

Life

De Souza was in the Canadian Scarborough in the province of Ontario born and guyanesischer descent Großväterlicherseits of the Father. She attended St. Mary Catholic Secondary School in Pickering , Ontario from 2004 to 2008 . She then enrolled at the University of Toronto in the fall of 2009 , where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology in spring 2012 . Subsequently, in the fall of 2012, she began further studies in art at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa . De Souza also works for the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association, a charity that supports the homeless in Ottawa . Her sister Briana De Souza , who is two years her junior , also plays football and is part of the Guyanas national team alongside her.

Football career

De Souza started her career in the youth of the Pickering Soccer Club, where she played for a while with her sister Briana , as well as her national teammates Ashlee Savona , Mariam El-Masri , and Ashley Rodrigues . won in her secondary school with the St. Mary's Monarchs, in 2007 and 2008 the LOSSA Championship and in 2008 the OFSAA silver medal. This was followed by studies at the University of Toronto , where she played for the Varsity Blues Soccer Team for four years. In spring 2012 she graduated with a bachelor's degree and played for half a year for her youth club Pickering SC. In the fall of 2012 she enrolled again for a degree in art at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and has since played for the UOIT Ridgebacks Women Soccer Team.

National team

De Souza has been a national player for Guyana since 2008 and took part in the Gold Cup in Cuba for her grandfather's home country in 2010 . has played in nine official FIFA internationals to date and has scored one goal for the Guyanese women's national soccer team .

As a trainer

Since 2011 she has also been working as a volunteer trainer for the U-10s of the Cherry Beach Soccer Club , alongside her older brother David.
