Kazimiera Alberti (* 1898 in Bolechów ; † May 28, 1962 in Bari ) was a Polish writer and publicist .

Life

After obtaining his Abitur in 1917 in Lwów , Alberti studied polonistics at the Jan Kasimir University . She made her debut as a publicist with the article Sylwetka Niemki , which was published in the weekly Świat Kobiety in 1924 , and as a poet with the poem Listopad , which was also published in 1924 in the daily Rzeczpospolita . From 1925 she was associated with the literary group around Jan Kasprowicz . In the following years she published her poems and articles in the magazines Świat Kobiety, Głos Narodu, Kurier Litercko-Naukowy, Comeodia, Gazeta Warszawska Poranna, Myśl Narodowa, Wiadomości Literackie, Gazeta Warszawska and Tęcza . She was a member of the Professional Association of Polish Writers . She married the lawyer and translator Stanisław Alberti and moved with him to Dąbrowa Tarnowska in 1930 and to Biała Krakowska in Podbeskidzie in 1932 . In the following years she campaigned for the local cultural life.

After the outbreak of World War II they returned to Lwów. There her husband was arrested by the NKVD when the Soviet troops entered and murdered in Brygidki prison in 1940. Alberti lived in Krakow during the German occupation and was involved in the underground. After the war ended in 1945, she left Poland and moved to Italy , where she married the lawyer and translator Alfo Cocola. In the following years she lived in Bari and devoted herself to writing and journalism.
