The Kem ( Russian Кемь ) is a left tributary of the Yenisei in the Russian region of Krasnoyarsk in western Siberia .

The Kem rises on the southeastern edge of the West Siberian lowlands . It flows mainly in a northerly direction. In the lower reaches it has many meanders . The Kem meets the Yenisei north of the Yenisei on the left. The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . Spring floods regularly occur in May . Important tributaries of the Kem are Belaja and Tyja , both from the left. The Kem has a length of 356 km. Its catchment area covers 8940 km².
