Kenan Şahin (born October 27, 1984 in Cologne ) is a German - Turkish soccer player who grew up in Germany. Şahin comes from the Rhineland , but has Turkish parents and a Turkish passport.

Career

society

He started playing soccer in Cologne at DJK Grün-Weiß Nippes before he was discovered for the youth of Bayer 04 Leverkusen . With the U-19 youth of the club he was in the final of the German championship.

After a year at SC Fortuna Köln , where he played in the B youth regional league, the center forward returned to Leverkusen in 2001 in the professional squad. In his first year, he made his first Bundesliga appearances at the age of 20 . In the first half of the following season, however, he was only substituted on once, so he decided to move to the 2nd Bundesliga during the winter break . At Energie Cottbus he was then also regularly on the pitch, even if it took until the last day of the 2004/05 season for Kenan Şahin to score his first goal in professional football.

Another year in Lusatia was crowned with the promotion of FC Energie to the first division, which the German-Turk did not take part. He moved to the second division TuS Koblenz for the 2006/07 season , where he played the season as a regular striker, even if the spirited player was temporarily suspended for disciplinary reasons. During the winter break of the 2007/08 season he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Regionalliga Nord . On December 16, 2008, he was again released from his club for disciplinary reasons.

From January 14, 2009 he became a contract player of the third division club 1. FC Union Berlin , where he was a regular in the second half of the 2008/09 season and made it to the second division with the capital club. He was also used regularly in the coming season, but was only a substitute in 17 of his 29 games this year. In the 2010/11 season there was also a foot injury, so that he could only make a few appearances in the first half of the season and did not play at all in the second half.

After his contract expired, he moved to Denizlispor in the second highest league in Turkey in the summer of 2011 . Here, at the end of the 2011/12 season, by mutual agreement, he dissolved his one-year contract. For the upcoming season he was hired by league rivals Kayseri Erciyesspor . With Kayseri Erciyesspor he reached the championship of the TFF 1st Lig at the end of the season and thus the direct promotion to the Süper Lig . Since his expiring contract was not extended, he was hired for the coming season at the second division Mersin İdman Yurdu .

For the second half of the 2013/14 season, Şahin moved to Ankaraspor within the 1st Lig . At the end of the season he moved on to league rivals Boluspor . He started the 2015/16 season at Elazığspor and moved to the fourth division Bergama Belediyespor during the winter break of the 2016/17 season .
