The financing of the activities is made possible through donations. In 2010 a documentary film was published about the work of the Kenya project, the individual helpers and the coordinator of the project Dr. med. Klaus Richter shows on site in Kenya.

The volunteer work in Kenya takes place in different areas. In the area of ​​addiction, HIV and prevention, work is carried out primarily through self-help groups , seminars for voluntary helpers, information events in markets and in churches, contact points in the affected regions and outpatient rehabilitation facilities. In addition to the Blue Cross self-help groups and the so-called recovery groups, the self-help groups also include special groups for women affected. There are also youth and sports groups against addiction and crime. In addition, children's homes and child sponsorships are financed. Donations in kind are also handed over through the Kenya project.

Areas of application

Larger rehabilitation facilities of the Kenya project are located in Eldoret , Embu , Kisumu and Mtito Andei. Contact points for children and young people in risk situations are in Kisumu, Nairobi , Mombasa and Mtito Andei. In these metropolitan areas, the helpers are mainly active in the slums in order to reach as many people affected as possible. Children's homes supported by the Kenya project were founded in Kisumu, Mtito Andei and Nairobi. The Ring of Hope project in Jinja is also part of the Kenya project and is the first pillar of the organization in Uganda.

Partnerships

The Kenya project cooperates with the Blue Cross in Germany / Wuppertal , the International Blue Cross / Bern and the Deaconess Mother House in Neuwandsburg / Elbingerode, among others . In the meantime, the actor Martin Semmelrogge acted as the project's patron.
