Kenneth Mburu Mungara (born September 7, 1973 ) is a Kenyan marathon runner .

Life

His first major success was winning the 2008 Prague Marathon in 2:11:06 h. In the same year he also won the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in 2:11:01 h.

In 2009 he ran the fastest time on Indian soil with 2:11:51 in the Mumbai Marathon . In the Prague Marathon, on the other hand, he only came in third despite a personal best of 2:10:29 h. In Toronto, on the other hand, he not only defended his title, but also ran a personal record of 2:08:32 and the fastest time on Canadian soil.

In 2010 he was fifth in the Beppu-Ōita marathon and seventh in Prague. With his third win in a row in Toronto, he improved both his personal record and the Canadian All-Comers record to 2:07:58 h.
At the end of the season, he also won the Singapore Marathon in December .

In 2011, as second in Prague, he increased his personal best to 2:07:36 h and defended his title in Toronto for the third time.

In 2013 he won the Nairobi Marathon , in 2014 the Singapore Marathon again , in 2015 the Milan Marathon , in the same year and again in 2016 he won the Gold Coast Marathon in Australia.

In January 2018 he won the Hong Kong Marathon and in July the 44-year-old won the Gold Coast Marathon for the third time after 2015 and 2016 with a time of 2:09:49 h.
